⚗️ PHYSICAL CHEMISTRY — Formula-Driven and Predictable

Physical Chemistry is where numerical ability decides your score. The concepts are stable, the formulas are finite, and the question archetypes barely change year to year. Students don't usually fail here from not understanding — they fail from sign errors, unit slips, and misread n-factors under time pressure. Which means this branch rewards drilling more than reading.

🎯 Electrochemistry — 68% Numerical, and Highly Repeatable
Guaranteed question: A Faraday's-law calculation (mass deposited from current × time), or a ΔG° from E°cell.
Signature trap: The n-factor — students equate one mole to one Faraday. Ca²⁺ needs 2 electrons, so 1 mole = 2 F. Plus the dilution paradox: κ falls while Λm rises.
Why it matters: 2-3 questions a year, and the maths is engineered to be calculator-free.

🎯 Thermodynamics & Equilibrium — Deeply Interconnected, Frequently Tested
Guaranteed question: A spontaneity determination using ΔG = ΔH − TΔS, or an equilibrium-shift prediction.
Signature trap: Sign conventions and unit mismatch — ΔH in kJ, ΔS in J. Forgetting to harmonise them is the top cause of wrong ΔG answers.
Why it matters: These two chapters are tested together constantly, and they connect onward to Electrochemistry via ΔG° = −nFE°.

🧊 INORGANIC CHEMISTRY — NCERT Line by Line

Inorganic is the most directly NCERT-sourced branch — questions frequently lift phrasing straight from the textbook. But the two chapters below are the exceptions that reward reasoning over recall: both run on rules you can apply rather than facts you must memorise, which makes them far higher-ROI than the descriptive p-block content.

Guaranteed question: A magnetic-moment or spin-state determination driven by ligand field strength.
Signature trap: The oxalate anomaly — it sits mid-spectrochemical-series but acts strong-field for Co³⁺, making [Co(C₂O₄)₃]³⁻ diamagnetic. Also: tetrahedral complexes are never low spin.
Why it matters: 2-4 questions a year, and the spectrochemical series alone drives ~40% of them.

🧬 ORGANIC CHEMISTRY — High Weightage Every Year

Organic Chemistry carries consistently high weightage in NEET, and its structure is different from the other branches: it's cumulative. Named reactions, reagents, and reaction conditions stack up, and the questions reward students who've built a reaction map rather than memorised isolated facts.

📌 Five Lessons That Apply Across Every Chemistry Chapter
1. NCERT is the source text — read it line by lineEspecially for Inorganic and Organic, questions are lifted almost directly from NCERT phrasing. Coaching material supplements it; it doesn't replace it. Skipping NCERT is the single most costly mistake in NEET Chemistry.
2. Balance all three branchesPhysical, Inorganic and Organic get near-equal weightage. You can't compensate for a weak branch by over-preparing another — the marks simply aren't there to be made up.
3. Learn the traps, not just the conceptsThe same traps recur every year: the n-factor, the dilution paradox, the oxalate anomaly, lone-pairs-change-shape. Knowing the trap is often worth more than knowing the concept.
